Yesterday my work had a meeting at an amazing plant nursery, Ruibal's, for our upcoming creatives conference . They have several Dallas locations - one is even walking distance from our apartment in Lakewood!
It's such a dream in there. A green dream! My good friend manages the location near the farmers market, and it's the only one I've visited (so far). It is sprawling with succulents, ferns, fiddle leaves and flowers. The shop is so well curated and only gets better every time I walk in. It's no wonder why the "jungalow style" is such a hit right now. Now, we all know succulents and cacti have been a hit for quite a while now. But I can't help notice over the past year or two, everything plant-life, boho and jungle has become the "it" thing in decor and style (at least through much of instagram and popular shopping spots). Justina Blakeney actually created the much used insta tag, #jungalowstyle. I was gifted her The New Bohemians for Christmas and think the book is just gorgeous - and adds style to my coffee table! This plant movement is such an inspirational and natural way to bring beauty into your home. Not to mention, cheap! The jungalow style is even spilling over into wallpapers, gifts, printed cushions - even clothing and accessories! H&M, Old Navy, Target, Forever and Zara jumped on the fresh band wagon. So summery, lush and lovely.
While I don't foresee myself actually implementing the banana leaf prints/art into my home, I definitely do want to add some life to my humble hacienda by using plants. My friend at Ruibal's says it's the most cost effective way to decorate your space and bring it to life. So true! If only my thumb was green. I kill every plant that steps into my home...sorry lil' guys.
Correction: I do have one succulent and one airplant that seem to be doing okay, however they don't need much attention - so we cool.
I'm Alyssa, thanks for stopping by! A few things: I enjoy laughing, making youtube videos and thrift shopping. Currently listening to "Everything Now" by Arcade Fire. I like my coffee black and my preferred method of maxin' & relaxin' is with my husband and pup.
